Odds and Ends
Dear CHP families,
Congratulations on a very strong finish to a great 2018 season. I am so proud to be part of our team and thankful for the leadership provided by Jeff Greene and Coach Breanna. This was truly one of the best seasons I've experienced in terms of participation and team work from all our families, and that always makes for a stronger, more successful team! From meets to movies, from practices to tubing down the river, we sure had great time. As always, I will miss our summer friends over the coming months, but I hope everyone is having a good start to school year routines and "fall" activities this week! We do still have a few swim-related loose ends to tie up.
Many of you were not able to come to the End of the Year Party, and we have a gift for you! Each swimmer should get a blue embroidered logo towel, and we want to make sure you don't miss out. I will be at the pool for an event this Saturday, 2:00-4:00 and will have the towels there with me. If you are available, please swing by to get your towel(s). If you cannot make it, let me know, and we can arrange another time to connect.
I will also have the ribbon box on Saturday if you have any ribbons you haven't picked up. In addition to any left over from all the meets, there were some relay ribbons from Fox Den that weren't initially available with the rest from that meet.
Our own Meghan Rockafellow is organizing a Back to School Splash party for Concord Hills Residents AND Swim Team members on Saturday, August 25, 4:00-10:30. Come out and celebrate with a little more fun in the pool. You can find details here: Back to School Splash. There will also be another movie night or two before the pool closes at the end of September. Breanna is working on planning those, and we'll let you know when they are scheduled.
Finally, as we close this season, we begin to plan for next season. If you have not yet done so, please head to the team website and RSVP for your swimmers for next season. You do not need to respond for parents, just swimmers. Of course, we know plans change, and this is not a binding commitment. It will just help us plan for general needs. Also, we have listed a few jobs that we need help with next year. If you are even possibly interested in helping us in these areas, please sign up as a volunteer! I'll be in touch to discuss it with you further and you can decide if it really is doable for you. If the job you would like is taken, just email us, and we can find a way to plug you in. Some jobs will involve organizing helpers, so we can still use you!
If you have questions, concerns, or compliments related to this season or next, please contact us at [email protected]. We do not check the email as frequently in the off-season, but we will respond. If it is urgent, you can find contact info for the board members on the website. Hope to see you this Saturday for towel/ribbon pick up or at the Back to School Splash on the 25th!
Sincerely,
Ginny Herrick
