Good afternoon, Piranhas!

We hope you have had a great summer so far! We have a couple of important announcements below especially to our afternoon swim schedule.

• Changes to Afternoon Practices: Our afternoon swim schedule will change for all groups starting this week. We only have the pool only on Monday – Wednesday in July. Morning schedules will continue with no changes.
  • Evening-only swimmers, you should have received an email about a possible alternate Monday schedule. Please reply ASAP
  • Morning 10 & unders, the Blue Group will have afternoon practice only on Tuesdays while the White Group will have only Wednesday afternoons.
• July 4th Holiday: We will not have practice this Friday due to the holiday weekend. Enjoy the time off and Happy Independence Day! Next Friday, 7/10 will be a White Group day for 10 & unders.
• 2020 Team Tees: We hope to have our team t-shirts by the end of this week and look forward to handing them out to the swimmers. All swimmers receive complimentary shirts as part of our summer program.
• Order GKAISA League 2 T-shirts: GKAISA is offering a League t-shirt for $15 instead of the normal City Meet shirts. The t-shirt will have the name of each team and registered swimmer in League 2 on the back. It is available to order from the Team Store tab of our website this week. A photo of the design is shown on the order page. Orders must be placed by 6:00 PM, THIS Friday, July 3 at https://concordhills.swimtopia.com/shop. Email us if you have any problems ordering.
• Meets: You may have noticed social media posts from other teams having intrasquad or virtual meets. We remain committed to following requirements and recommendations for COVID-19 safety. Some teams have smaller numbers or different facility situations that enable them to do what we cannot. Others have not fully adhered to guidelines. We have been prohibited from having a gathering of more than 50 people through July 1st as a Knox County youth sports organization. We will be under TN state guidelines as of this Wednesday. We are working on plans to have a Blue and White meet held during practices and will keep you posted. Our board, coaches, and parent volunteers involved in organizing meets do not feel it is feasible or practical for our team to hold virtual meets. A big factor is the number of volunteers we would need during the work day over several mornings, as virtual meets still require officials, timers, scorers, etc.  As COVID cases continue to increase, we are reminded of the importance of doing our part to keep our families and coaches healthy. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to getting back to normal next summer.

PS - For those who registered a little late, be sure you have downloaded the Swimtopia App, signed in with your login from the team website, and enabled alerts.  This is the system we use to alert you if practice has to be cancelled due to inclement weather.  Piranhas swim in the rain but never in storms, and the weather at your house may be different from the weather at the pool!
