FMS Swimming Info
Hello all, I hope everyone is getting settled in to a new school routine and all is well. I realize many of you do not have middle school age swimmers in your home, but I bet you know someone that does! The Farragut Middle school swim team is very excited about some recent changes that have happened and especially about who is allowed to be on the team! Obviously any Farragut Middle School student is eligible to join the team. Furthermore, since FMS swimming is now considered a "Community Sport" and not formally associated with the school system, they are open to Home School students in 6th-8th grades, students from other public middle schools that do not have their own swim teams, as well as, swimmers from private schools. Although there are no formal tryouts for the team, each swimmer must be able to swim freestyle for 2 lengths (50 yards) of the pool without stopping and unassisted.
There will be a parent meeting on 9/7 at 6:30 at the FMS cafeteria for anyone interested. In the mean team feel free to check out the new team website, it has a ton of information. https://swimfarragutmiddle.swim-team.us/.
Please share this info with anyone that you feel may be interested. Thanks and have a great day!
