City Last Minute Info

City meet families,
PLEASE READ TO THE END! We have a few items to bring to your attention:
1. Worker Positions
2. Attendance
3. Tent map & unloading
4. What to bring additions
5. Jimmy John's orders
WORKER POSITIONS - We still have multiple worker positions unfilled for Friday and Saturday. When we don't fill our allotted positions, we are fined monetarily and docked points from our team's score. It is crucial that we fill these assignments. The alternative is for a coach to have to work the positions, which pulls him/her off deck and away from the opportunity to guide and encourage our swimmers before and after their events. Last year Ross had to fill shift positions for us instead of his coaching job so that we didn't risk losing points. We have enough families at City each year that it should never come to that! Also, keep in mind that the certified worker positions aren't even listed, and we have several parents who are working full days at the meet on our team's behalf.
Please remember that all families participating in City are expected to fill a position during the meet. Here's a little secret about the majority of the positions that are left. First, the Jump Judge only works for the relays, and it is an easy job to do. Second, while it is never guaranteed, it is not unheard of for City meet to get ahead of schedule. That means that the 3rd shift positions are sometimes the shortest time commitment! They switch shifts according to the time at City, not the event number. If the meet is an hour ahead, the last shift is shorter.
Please follow the links to sign up now! It is very difficult to have to scramble the morning of to cover everything. Let's get this taken care of tonight!!!!
Friday - 11 & up https://concordhills.swim-team.us/team/view_volunteers.asp?Meet=194636
Saturday - 10 & under https://concordhills.swim-team.us/team/view_volunteers.asp?Meet=211554
Attendance - If, due to illness or other unavoidable issue, you become unable to attend the meet or cannot be there on time in the morning, PLEASE CONTACT BREANNA DIRECTLY. It is imperative that she know as early as possible each morning if she will have to adjust the line-up. Please understand that withdrawing or missing an event affects others, especially in relays, as it is complicated and in some cases impossible to reorganize teams so that no one has to drop an event. If the circumstance is unavoidable, you can reach Breanna at (484) 638-1065 [email protected]
Tent map - The tent map for City is attached. We are in front of the Student Aquatic Center (SAC) in the spot marked CHRC. You may pull up to the curb to unload your gear (and kids if old enough or supervised), go park, and walk or ride the shuttle back to the SAC at which point you can bring the gear down to the tent and set up. You can follow the procedure in reverse to load up at the end of the day.
What to bring - You will want to bring all your normal meet chairs, activities, and snacks, but in addition, be sure to bring money to buy a heat sheet($10). Many families will pair up and share one. You may also want to bring a tarp to set your gear and chairs on. Given the rain today and the forecast for tomorrow, the grass may be wet all weekend. The ground doesn't dry out quickly under a tent. Covering your area with a tarp can really cut down on wet, muddy gear.
Lunch! - Don't forget to place your lunch order ahead of time if you want Jimmy John's delivered to the tent, and don't forget to include a tip for the driver in your payment. Details on ordering procedure were in the comprehensive City Info mail that was sent out Wednesday.
Thanks for your help in meeting our team's obligations. Good luck to all, and GO PIRANHAS!
