Smoky Mountain Invitational Info

Big Kid Day (11 & Up) Saturday July 15th.

Little Kid Day (10 & Under) Sunday July 16th

We have the 7:50 am in pool warm up time.  Lane 1 for Big Kid Day.  Lanes 1 & 2 for Little Kid Day.

Be in our tent and ready to start Dry Land warm ups at 7:15 am.

Worker positions are available on our website:  https://concordhills.swim-team.us/team/view_volunteers.asp?Meet=194637.   Our team will be docked 50 points for each unfilled worker position.  Shifts worked at Smoky will count toward your required volunteer commitment.  In past years people have split these shifts.  Workers receive a swimming wristband, further information below.

Where: SMI is held at the Springbrook Pool, 636 Vose Rd Alcoa TN 37701.  Before you get to the pool parking lot turn right on to Faraday St.  Then your first left onto Springbrook Rd.  Stay on Springbrook Rd along the backside of the pool.  After you past the pool park in the grass area to your left.  As you walk back to the pool area stay to your right.  Our tent is located along the small creek that runs through the park.  Hopefully we will have our large feather flag up before you get there.   If this parking area is full, parking is also available in the pool parking lot, the Alcoa Elementary School parking lot and up the hill at Alcoa High School. Drop off your supplies at the pool, park, and then return to take your things into the pool area. The Methodist Church is not available for parking. RV parking will be marked off and signs posted in the pool parking lot. “No SMI Parking” signs will be posted in areas where there is to be NO PARKING.  

Concessions:  Panera Bread will be on site each morning with bagels, pastries, coffee, juice and other breakfast items.  There is also a concession stand, I believe they offer pizza, as well as drinks and other items.  There is also a Hawaiian Shaved Ice truck.  Swim & Tri will also have a booth set up.  

Swim Wristbands:  Springbrook pool is large and has a big water slide.  You may purchase swim wrist bands $5 for a 1 hr 15 mins session or $20 for all day.  Workers will receive an all-day wristband.  This is the only meet that parents and siblings get to swim too!

Clerk of Course:   Like City Meet all age groups are seated in Clerk of Course, no event cards are given out.  Announcements will be made calling each event to Clerk of Course.

SMI is the only meet that excludes year-round swimmers.  It is a great way for the Summer Only Swimmers to compete against other SO Swimmers.  While lots of fun this can be a long hot day at the pool.  I would suggest bring a cooler full of snacks and drinks.  You will also want chairs, sunscreen and things to do between events.
