    BLUE & WHITE - UPDATES

    • A BIG THANK YOU to all the parents who stepped up and helped us empty fill worker slots at B&W! We have so many new faces – over 1/3 of our team is new this year – and it was great to see every one pitching in to help and also educate our fellow new parents and children on the ropes of a meet. Our Swamily is the BEST!
    • LESSONS LEARNED -We learned some logistical lessons at this dry run practice meet. We practiced the opposite end entry for our younger ones. (This time saving start method is used at KRC and City Meets for the 10 and Under Age Groups so this was a dry run for that.) Our Food Truck vendor who had awesome FRESH food for us saw such great response that he is bringing more personnel to assist to cut wait times that some of you experienced. If you were one of those folks who experienced a long wait Tuesday night for food, please come back for Village Green to patronize the truck. We promise wait times will be cut from here on out now that they know what to expect. They will also start serving early as well during warm ups.
    • SEE THE RESULTS!! New on the website this year – we will be posting Meet results and kids times as available. Go to the MEET menu of the website and on the page next to RSVP and V buttons for each meet, you will now see an icon that looks like a 1st ribbon. Click this button to see meet team scores and also use the filter up top by swimmer to see times recorded when available. A note on times- these are hand entered by Computer Scorer parent volunteers. If we don’t have a volunteer at  the meet it may be a day or two for coaches to input scores as they have time. It’s a nice feature though. Be patient with us as we work through the kinks. If you would like to help with this, please sign up for Computer Scorer - just added to job lists!

NEXT MEET - Village Green Gators @ Home – Next Thursday, June 15th – 1st LEAGUE MEET!!

    • RSVP for Swimmers! PLEASE READ ME!
      • Deadline for Swimmers is this Sunday, June 11th at 1PM. That afternoon Coach Breanna and her staff will make the best strategies to plan each event for success and produce the heat sheets. If you find you can swim after the RSVP is locked out online, reach out to Coach Breanna and she will make adjustments to the heat sheet as she can. It may mean that your child will not compete in a planned relay, but they can always swim in an individual stroke heat--even if it’s last minute. If you want to swim, we will do our best to add you in where you want to be. laugh
      • Remember RSVP means Yes OR No. We need to know if you are not attending as well please so we don’t have to track down non-replies.
      • While you are on the site, why not sign up your swimmer for all the meets – yes or no- for the season?? You can always change it on the site if your plans change, but if you enter them all up front (and verify they saved) then you have no worries for the season planning wise!
    • CHP Volunteers for Village Green Meet
      • SIGN UP STATUS -We are doing really well for this sign up! Thank you!! We still need an 8&U Clerk of Course helper with the little ones, a 9&Up Clerk of Course to hand out event cards, and someone to learn computer entry with Harry King in the 2nd half in order to data enter scores for the kids into the website.
      • CHECK YOUR SIGN UPS FOR THIS ONE PLEASE! Some of you signed up in April for your shifts and haven’t been back since, please verify your worker position for Village Green and what half. If you have not signed up or forgot to save your original so its didn’t take, please take one of the open positions. Please note start times for certain volunteer worker positions are different from swimmer start times. Refer to schedule below for early workers.
      • SINCE YOU ARE HERE - Hey, while you are here, why not sign up your volunteer spots for all the meets for the season?? You need 4 shifts (one half each) to meet your registration obligation. You can always change it on the site if plans change, but if you enter them all up front and verify the save then you have no worries for the season on your plans and fulfilling your volunteer obligation!
      • LAST, but not least please remember to sign the VOLUNTEER SIGN IN sheets at the MEET when you work to verify that you completed your shift. BOTH Volunteers and Swimmers have to sign in. If you are working both halves at the same meet, you need to sign twice – once for each position/shift on the sign in sheets. If you are switching/filling in, please ask the Volunteer Coordinator for assistance to set the records straight. Thank you! We couldn’t do it with you!! J
